Title: Camera Obscura Acquired
Fandom: Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters
Rating: G
Characters: Ryou Bakura
Relationships: Ryou Bakura & Thief King Bakura
Word Count: 396
Summary: Ryou finds a Camera Obscura.

The former Thief King follows Ryou down a hallway. The floor creaks beneath them. "I don't know why I keep joining you on these."

Ryou looks over his shoulder at him. "Because you know you're the only one who will come with me. And if I die, who's going to pay our rent?"

"I could talk Marik into paying it," Bakura says as they go around a corner. He readjusts his hold on his flashlight. "I also still don't understand why you enjoy this so much."

This was because Ryou didn't know how to describe the feeling he got from urban exploring. He himself didn't even think it would be something he'd enjoy that much but one day Jounouchi made a bet with him. Ryou lost so he had to go into an abandoned building on the outskirts of the city. It wasn't even that dilapidated, but he got... a rush, he supposes, from it and now it's something he does a couple times a month.

And he keeps dragging Bakura with him. Honestly, Ryou also isn't sure why he keeps joining him.

They enter one of the rooms and Ryou spots something on a night stand. He picks it up and examines it. "I didn't think I'd find one of these."

Bakura looks over Ryou's shoulder. "It just looks like an old camera."

"I think it's a Camera Obscura. They're very rare. Supposedly, they can capture images of spirits. There's also rumors of it being able to exorcize them." Ryou checks the film counter. "It looks like there's still film in it."

Ryou puts the Camera in one of the side pockets of his backpack. The air around them suddenly feels oddly still. He swears he hears footsteps in the hallway, but when he peeks out, there's no one there.

The floor above them creaks.

"We should get out of here," Bakura says. "We don't want to get caught."

"You're right."

They head back downstairs and Bakura gets outside, but as Ryou steps out the front door, a hand grabs his wrist.

As he starts to turn, the hand lets go. Or at least, it feels like it lets go. But everything feels off.

"Are you okay," Bakura asks, frowning.

Ryou nods. "Like you said, we should get out of here."

As the two leave, Ryou tries to figure out what he's gotten himself into.
