Winter Solstice 2025 Countdown - Day 12

The solstice is tomorrow and it's the end of the countdown because my solstice day fic plans aren't working out. At least I'll have more of a lead in 2026 to write and figure things out instead of starting the month of.

Anne and Emily sit at a table in their living room, doing a jigsaw puzzle. Soon after they got back from the festival, the light snow quickly turned into a blizzard. At least they're at the palace and they didn't get stuck in the city.

Emily puts the last border piece in and starts sorting through the rest of her pile.

They're together; it's warm; they had more soup earlier to warm up.

There's no place either of them would rather be.
