I wanted to boost a couple links.

The Narratess Indie Book Sale is live from today to the 13th. There's a website listing all of the books that are on sale and multiple bundles on itch.io for books that are available through there. (I only linked one, but there's links to the other bundles on the website. There is one book that is available on itch.io but isn't in the bundles from what I could tell.)

There's also a TTRPGs for Trans Rights bundle on itch.io until the end of the month. There's over 500 TTRPGs in the bundle proper and if you fill out a form linked in the description, you also get some extras.

There wasn't a lot happening this week.

I've been listening to the new opening for Kamen Rider ZEZTZ on repeat. It's so good.

Hopefully this week I'll get around to watching through a play-through of the Fatal Frame II remake. Maybe it'll give me inspiration for the Fatal Frame Fusion AU.

So only time will tell, but Tumblr may be imploding for good this time. 😔

If it does and ends up shutting down, that's going to be a lot of fandom history lost.

Edit: For now they're saying they're rolling back the change that everyone had a strong reaction to.

Played through an event in Duel Links.

I watched Scream for the first time yesterday. I went in knowing who the killer was, but honestly even if I didn't, there were multiple times where they did something suspicious.

I started a project in RPG Maker MV just to figure out the engine.

I'm definitely feeling better. Still some pain, but it's not as bad as it was.

I got Cozy Sudoku on Steam and I'm definitely enjoying it better than the website I use for Sudoku. (A good portion of the time on the website, the difficulty levels don't feel like they actually match.)

I got my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday and I've been feeling bleh since. I spent a good portion of time yesterday sleeping (which is good for healing, but I wanted to actually do things).

I've gotten back into playing Duel Links. I'm mostly playing Rush Duel because the Speed Duel PVP is kind of awful at the moment.

I went to a craft night at one of my local libraries. Definitely going again next month.

I've been thinking more about my eventual move to Linux. Everything should work fine, but I'm still a little bit anxious that I'll make the move and then find out something doesn't work.

The past few weeks haven't had much going on so I haven't really had anything to journal about.

I watched Sleepwalkers and Blair Witch Project yesterday. I rewatch Sleepwalkers every couple years and Clovis the cat continues to be the best character. There's so much in that movie that's just never explained.

It was technically my second time watching Blair Witch and I definitely found it scarier the first time over a decade ago.

I did get my first cellphone a couple weeks ago. It's definitely been an adjustment from a computer. (Why are there two different things for volume?)

I got a couple things of Hi-Chew candies and found out that I like dragon fruit.

Voting for next month's book over at bookclub_dw is currently ongoing.

Does anyone have recs for image hosting sites that aren't imgur? I'm planning on changing my Dreamwidth theme, but I need a place to host images for it. (I'm trying to avoid filegarden because there's still no TOS.)

I didn't get much done this week. I ended up moving into our living room because of the cold (we had temperatures in the negatives last week) so it's taken me a bit to adjust.

I got 3 of the things I need for my current circuitry project. I tried to order the other 2 things and it got stuck on processing the payment. I gave up after an hour. I'll have to try again next month.

I'm still having issues getting the calculator to run. I'm probably going to have to create an issue for it on GitHub.

I'll hopefully get the GUI (or at least a good portion of it) for the horror VN demo done this week. I've also been looking at prices for a different project (I won't actually start on it until the demo's out but I'm currently planning stuff).

There are so many other videos that could have gone on this list. I definitely prefer mixes or extended versions. I tend to find more music either from someone linking a new song/mix or clicking on one from my recommendations. (Or realizing it's been 6-8 months so mild potato (the channel from the last link) has probably uploaded another mix by now. They don't upload often, but they're consistent about it.)

This challenge has given me the idea of either posting a separate weekly roundup of what I've been listening to or adding that as a section on my weekly journal posts.

I returned 2 books I had borrowed from my library via Libby early. Neither of them were holding my attention as well as I thought they would. I still have Pierced Peony (for a challenge on Librarything) and The Spellshop to read so I'll hopefully read one of those this week.

I made a Tumblr side blog a couple days ago because I had no place to reblog posts that weren't about Yu-Gi-Oh. I've already accidentally reblogged posts that were meant for that one onto my main blog.

I posted Picnic Under the Stars on AO3 for Jounuary. I'm probably going to wait until after the event to post it here and on my fic archive so I can just cross-post everything I write for it at once.

Figured I'd share this post from November by doodlemancy. It's a list of places to find art references that aren't filled with AI stuff.

I've been playing only Duel Links. I started reading The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle for a challenge over on LibraryThing, but I DNF'd when

CW: Animal Death

his cat died.

I have plenty more things to read this month though for other challenges on LibraryThing and The Spellshop for bookclub_dw.

I've been trying to recolor the Windows Calculator and I finally figured out how to run the repository, but Visual Studio says it can't read a few files. I'm thinking I might have to download and use the 2022 version of Visual Studio instead. (The last time the read-me on GitHub was updated was 2 years ago and that was just for higher quality screenshots so it says the latest version is fine, but that might not be true.)

I'm trying to figure out my general goals for the year ahead. I have some craft stuff planned and I set a goal of 6,000 words in TrackBear. I'm hoping to write more than that, but at least with a small goal, it's really easy to get ahead so if I have to take a break from writing for some reason it'll be fine. I also want to get back into photography this year.

I have a black cat named Ryuk. We adopted him from a shelter as a kitten and he's grown up to be a menace, but I love him anyway. He knows he gets his treats after I eat dinner so he's gotten to the point where he stares at me the entire time I'm eating. He'll grab someone's sleeve or pant leg if they stop petting him before he's done being pet.

The only pet in Yu-Gi-Oh is Honda's dog, Blankey. She only appears in the manga and only once, but I love her.

I have an intro post here. (I'm going to have to update it at some point now that I know what I post on here, but it still has the basics).

I want to get used to posting on here more often than my weekly journal posts since this is basically the only place where I post stuff (on Tumblr I mostly just reblog and I'm basically never on Bluesky unless something happens).

I also want to meet new people and this seems like a good way to do that.

I haven't made any progress on the calculator project. When I follow the steps that Microsoft says to do to run it, it doesn't work. (The read-me also says that they're planning on adding graph calculator functions so it's very outdated.) I haven't gotten much done in general because it's been A Week and I'm glad it's over.

For Christmas, I got House Flipper Pets Edition and an Ace Attorney game collection (both for the Switch), I got one of these with textured sides (and it's been my new favorite thing), and a star projector night light. And everyone else in the house liked what I got them so that was a good part of the week.

I haven't gotten any game dev or web dev stuff done. Still going through the chronic illness flare unfortunately. Next month I'm planning buying some things for circuitry stuff so I'll hopefully have something else to do other than games and books. I love both of those things, but sometimes you get restless from doing the same types of things all the time.

I'm going to be trying to make a custom theme for the Windows calculator sometime this coming week. Wish me luck because I'm gonna need it.
